As we near the end of 2019, it’s the perfect time to start preparing if a 2020 home sale is in your future. Here’s what you should do to get started.

Even though it’s December, it’s still an excellent time to think about selling your home and start getting it ready for the market. Here are some quick things you can work on before you give us a call to get a market analysis done for your home.

First, take a look at your landscaping and think about what’s going to need to be trimmed back or refreshed prior to spring. Also, it’s a great time to paint that front door and make sure it’s looking really great come spring.

After you put away the Christmas tree, it’s a good time to go through your storage spaces and start purging. Think about selling some and donating the rest. Cleaning up clutter is always the most time-consuming part of getting a home ready for sale and it’s most often the hardest part, too. Donate those old clothes, shoes, and linens to make your home look HGTV ready. It needs to look like you still have a lot of room. If you haven’t packed stuff away, it will feel more cramped.
