The San Antonio Zoo added someone new recently. She is a Rescued Bald Eagle that came to us from the Santa Barbara Zoo in California. Haley, as she is named, is 25 years old and a stunning female eagle. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service rescued her after she was shot in 1998. She was deemed non-releasable and since that time as been in several zoos. She is the first eagle to grace the San Antonio zoo in over 10 years. The best part is Haley is getting a mate. His name is Chinook and will soon be arriving from the Wahington state zoo. The pair will be a sight a enjoy. If you have not been to the zoo in awhile, all the more reason to make another trip.
