Here are the four main considerations when choosing an alarm system.
Today I’m joined by Johnny Lopez from Advanced Protection Systems. He’s one of our partners, and he’s here to go over the four most important things you should consider in an alarm system:
1. Partnership. Know who you’re doing business with. You don’t want service from a random 1-800 number.
2. How is your alarm being monitored? Is it connected to a traditional phone line, or is it through cellular, which eliminates the vulnerability? Many new homes have the contacts installed, but for older homes, wireless systems are very popular. What are some pros and cons of wireless systems?
When we talk about wireless, we’re talking about how the monitoring station gets notified. Most newly built homes have hard-wired equipment built in. Wireless equipment is advantageous if the home is already built because you don’t have to pay for labor, and you won’t run into any issues with wiring those sensors. Either way, you want the monitoring station to be notified via cellular.
3. Are all levels protected? Are your windows covered? Is your smoke detector monitored? Is your carbon monoxide detector monitored?
4. Do you understand how your system works? It’s very important to know how it works.
Whenever one of my clients calls and asks about their alarm system, I always refer them to Johnny Lopez because he’s amazing at helping people with their alarms, even if they aren’t an Advanced Protection Systems alarm system. If you need any kind of assistance with your alarm systems or if you want to upgrade the system, give Advanced Protection Systems a call. If you have any other questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email. I’d love to hear from you and help you out in any way I can.
